Eerie Monster of Green

I watched in the bushes as the young girl stepped into her hut, humming a beautiful melody. She shut the door behind her, leaving me outside by myself. She has long and curly black hair that reached her elbows. The girl’s skin is dark, slightly shiny in the moonlight.

I walk out from the bushes and closer to the door. I can hear her speaking inside the hut, her voice angelic and calming. Lightly, I start to ding my bells. Their sound is soft at first, then grows louder. The girl inside stops talking.

She very slowly walks to the door, her footsteps quiet and almost unable to be heard. She’s breathing heavy, I hear it through the door. The bells chime louder in my hands.

No. No, no, no. This can’t be happening. I think as the bells on the other side of the door chime loudly. I know not to open the door, I know what’s on the other side of it. But the more I listen to the bells, the more I can’t resist. I want to run away, but there is nowhere to run. All of the muscles in my body refuse to move, the bells freezing me in place.

My left hand grips the doorknob, and I can feel a tear falling down my face. No. I turn it, then push the door open to reveal an Eloko. In both of the things hands are bells, which are still moving back and forth. The monster’s whole body is green and it has a skirt of leaves. The monster has no hair, instead there’s grass growing on it’s head. On it’s hands and feet are long and sharp claws that could easily cut anything a knife could, including humans. The Eloko has a huge mouth with razor sharp teeth. It’s mouth can be opened so wide that it can swallow a person while!

Suddenly, it drops it’s bells and grabs me by the arm and pulls me closer to it. It’s fiery eyes burn into my soul as it scrapes it’s claws gently against my skin. It lifts me and opens it’s mouth. Before I know it, Eloko shoves me into it’s large mouth and begins to chew. Blood drops from multiple wounds in my skin as I close my eyes and accept the fact that I’ll be dead in less than a minute. I wait for the tremendous pain to leave and death creeps into me.

I pick up my bells and smile. “Delicious.” I say. “Could use more pepper though.” I turn to the woods and walk in, glad my hunger was satisfied.
