How brands strive for brand loyalty

Few days ago while I was in a meeting with the Bank’s branch manager, I noticed one visitor in the bank standing in a queue and I couldn’t resist myself to take this photo.

It’s all about Puma. Bag, Shirt, Shoes - all #Puma as if no other brands exist on this planet. That rose few questions in my mind.

Is this the brand loyalty? Or are we getting consumed by the brand? Do we use the product of the brand or are we the product of the brand?

Apart from creating high quality products, what do brands do to inspire their consumers to turn them from a customer to a loyal customer? How do they imprint the brand image on the consumers' mind? Creating a branding impact is one thing and maintaining it in long run is another. Apart from traditional ways of marketing the brand, how one can leverage the modern digital ways for reaching out to consumers?

This tempted me to do some research and analysis and try to corelate my findings with my favorite topics - branding and social media marketing / digital marketing.

I found that Puma is a late entrant in the social media marketing. But when they made their entry into it, they invested heavily into it. The brand now uses range of social media platforms like:

Twitter
Youtube
Tumbler
Instagram

Puma did not just stop there. They went ahead and developed their own social platform called "Life Score Board" as part of their digital strategy, which allows users to create competitions of their own and easily keep scores. I even found this interesting video which throws some light on Puma's social clubbing on digital platform.

This is what I really like when I see brands across the globe use social media platforms in innovative way to engage their audiences. A brand should always have a strategy for their social media exploration. Brands should strive to make use of all the modern digital mediums to reach out to their audiences in efficient manner.
