New Instagram features help companies on the app

The new button says “share link to entire story,” and provides users with a link to their whole story to share with friends or other audiences. Brands that are on Instagram can use this to attract people to their story and their profile.

Another thing Instagram is adding is the option for companies to promote their Instagram stories, profiles and company website through the opportunity to use the “promote” tool. The tool was available to companies with a bigger number of followers, but the app is starting to make the option available to more of its users.

These features could help businesses and public figures promote their services and their brand. The ability to link multiple social media accounts and websites means less searching that customers have to do. Now, users can click on the Facebook page of their favorite brand, see a link to the Instagram which leads to pictures and videos of the product, which could also direct users to the company’s website. All of this just by one simple Facebook search.

This update shows that Instagram is finally catching up to Snapchat, which has had the option to add links to stories for a while. Companies that can capitalize on directly linking their websites to their Instagram stories would save money on other advertisements and can reach their audiences easier with linking their Instagram stories on other platforms.
