Display Tales

When the iMac 5K died on me last year, I’d been using iMacs for over a decade, so shopping for a display was a very distant memory. That situation changed when I replaced it with the M1 MacBook Air…

Keep Doing and Moving

4th MAY, 2021

Christ for Youth International

Faith is one of the first steps we need to take as babies in the Kingdom of God. We are babies requiring the sincere milk of God’s Word to grow, and He gives it freely unto us. Like every parent, God watches over us tenderly in those first moments and will meet all our needs but walk for us.

Just as the movements in our lives did not end at the first steps we took as infants, our movement in the Kingdom need not end at those first steps of faith. The Bible tell us that faith without works is dead. In keeping with this analogy, our next steps after we take the ‘step’ of faith, requires intentionality. That is because, without being intentional, we will topple to the ground like a child who is now learning to walk.

As we walk on in the journey of life, many things rise up to topple us over. Mental health issues, financial issues, family issues — the list is endless, yet, as we learnt, God is watching over our every step to ensure that we do not stumble. He never slumbers at this task, nor at any other.

He gives us the power, the direction and the ability to rise above the roadblocks and mountains. He urges us on to keep moving and to keep doing. However, the choice to continue moving is entirely up to us. We have to choose to move. We need to consciously decide to keep doing the things He has asked of us.

The power He gives to us is in the blood that washed us clean, and the direction is in His Word that He has given unto us. Now it’s up to us to decide; will we say to that mountain “be removed and be cast into the sea”? Or will we remain motionless, having faith in God but with no action to prove that we truly believe in the power He has freely given?

Basically, the question is this, after the first step in faith, will you keep moving and doing, or will you stumble and give up? Even if you should stumble, will you take another step of faith to pick yourself up and believe in the restorative power of God? Yes, you should. Remember, you have confidence in the Lord that you are doing, and will continue to do, the things He has commanded of you.
