Love always prevails

I pray for a day when everyone
Will see their fellow humans as equals
Worthy of respect and understanding
Where all living beings will be
Treated with kindness and dignity
An age of awareness is upon us
As people wake up and realize
How absurd and devastating is cruelty
How inhumane and abject is torture and slavery
Each person deserves to be loved and cherished
And have the same rights to live beautifully
I dream of a day when we will love each other
Purely and unconditionally
With all our might
Where our hearts will be filled with joy and happiness
Where our souls will beam with light
And people will desire to be selfless
Where notions of genocide will not exist
Nor will hate, racism, xenophobia, or homophobia
Where hurt and pain will be incomprehensible
Where our children will be taught to see past the differences
To celebrate our diversity
Making it our unity
Our strength, our safe haven
I encourage everyone to liberate themselves from the shackles
Of discrimination, fear, anger, resentment, and hostility
Let us plant flowers of admiration, respect, and brotherhood
Let our planet bloom with love and compassion
Let our planet be filled with joy and wonder
Let our consciousness work for the greater good
I can see it in my dream
And I know very soon it will become a reality
For, in the end, love always prevails
