My Ode To Winter

Nature

A reminder to appreciate your surroundings (even if you’re cold).

As a loyal Minnesotan, I feel obligated to comment on the thing we are best know for.

Snow.

Growing up in an area averaging 100 inches of snow in winter months, I’ve had my fair share of snow-related ups and downs.

There were fantastic snow days spent playing in the yard, building snowmen, and throwing snowballs around.

But there were also days when our car couldn’t get out of the garage and we had to trudge down our half-mile driveway through a foot of snow to get to the “backup car”.

With all the chaos and frigid weather winter brings, it can be easy to forget to appreciate how beautiful it can be.

Next time you’re outside, take a second to look around and appreciate the beauty around you, no matter what it looks like!
